FAQ

Who the #%*@ is Jasper?

Justin’s neighbor in the Carmona hood was an elderly matron who peeked through the windows and yelled, “Jasper, what are you doing?” It’s been a keeper ever since.

Jerry’s dog is also named Jasper for all the obvious reasons.

Is that a picture of Jasper on the inside front cover of the cd?

No, that’s Dan Lutz, the MD and bass man. Look, he has hair…come on, now.

What are you so mad about?

Pick a subject…you go first. I’m long winded.

What’s up with the masks?

They are both warrior masks from West Africa circa 1967. My Dad bought them in Nigeria and they symbolize strength. One is brass and the other is ebony and both have traveled around the world protecting against spirits and bad juju.

Where’s Jerry on the new cd?

Jerry is the best sax player on the planet…but we wanted to make a “rock” record, and Jerry said, “Whatever, I’m here when you need me.” So he’s on five tunes and doing his usual best. He’s a true Christian and can’t wait to play all the guitar parts in the live show.

Why did you repeat some songs from earlier cds?

I like ‘em…a lot. And I thought they needed re-writing and a new sound that was more up tempo. All 3 of the tunes we re-recorded featured new arrangements and a faster tempo than before. We also anticipated a female lead on two tracks but it didn’t pan out.
