About:

Justin St. Denis and his band have performed in Southern California
for over a decade mixing a variety of sounds into a melodic blend of
eclectic rock.

With influences from across the globe the band can swing back and forth
between soulful ballads, country rock and jazzy adult pop.
Justin’s songs have been featured in 5 independent movie releases and
a television commercial.

Justin plays acoustic guitar, writes and sings lead vocals.
The band features Jon La Croix on drums and keyboards,
in addition to producing the bands records. Jon is also a co-writer
on “Plain Enough” from the 2004 release, Mad Jasper.
Dan Lutz, the musical director for the Oasis Church in Los Angeles,
plays bass in the studio, while Chris Everett handles the live shows.
Guitarist Steve Harriton, Jon’s partner from the production company,
Essani Music, plays on the record, while Travis Newlon, also of the Oasis
Church house band, handles the live shows.
Jerry Moore, who has played on every record since 1995,
is the extraordinary sax player both live and in the studio.
Before the guitarists came along in 2004, Jerry played every
solo and added a distinct jazz tone to the songs.

It’s a family affair with Dan’s wife Michelle, a lead vocalist in the Oasis
Church, on backing vocals.
The Migman handles the web site, photography and air guitar.

The band is currently finishing a new record that should be
available in early 2007 and playing shows in Southern California.

Frequently Asked Questions

Who the #%*@ is Jasper?

Justin’s neighbor in the Carmona hood was an elderly matron who peeked through the windows and yelled, “Jasper, what are you doing?” It’s been a keeper ever since.

Jerry’s dog is also named Jasper for all the obvious reasons.

Is that a picture of Jasper on the inside front cover of the cd?

No, that’s Dan Lutz, the MD and bass man. Look, he has hair…come on, now.

What are you so mad about?

Pick a subject…you go first. I’m long winded.

What’s up with the masks?

They are both warrior masks from West Africa circa 1967. My Dad bought them in Nigeria and they symbolize strength. One is brass and the other is ebony and both have traveled around the world protecting against spirits and bad juju.

Where’s Jerry on the new cd?

Jerry is the best sax player on the planet…but we wanted to make a “rock” record, and Jerry said, “Whatever, I’m here when you need me.” So he’s on five tunes and doing his usual best. He’s a true Christian and can’t wait to play all the guitar parts in the live show.

Why did you repeat some songs from earlier cds?

I like ‘em…a lot. And I thought they needed re-writing and a new sound that was more up tempo. All 3 of the tunes we re-recorded featured new arrangements and a faster tempo than before. We also anticipated a female lead on two tracks but it didn’t pan out.
